Wolfe County Search & Rescue Team Lend Helping Hand to Injured Hiker

On Thursday afternoon, the Wolfe County Search & Rescue Team received an emergency call in regards to an injured hiker in the Cloud Splitter area in Menifee County.
SRT members were dispatched to the subject’s location near the base of the mountain where they made contact with them. According to officials, the hiker slipped while climbing down before they attempted to grab a tree root to stop their fall. As a result, the hiker sustained a shoulder dislocation.
Wilderness First Responders were able to stabilize and provide a splint for the hiker’s injured shoulder before evacuating them to safety.
