The Berea Police Department report responding to a call in reference to a 34 year-old male identified as Todd Holden, who according to the caller and the citation pulled an “AK-47” out on two Bondsmen at his Reed Hill residence. The men drove to his residence from Tennessee to talk about some warrants he had out of that state.

According to the citation, the caller advised police Holden had left his residence and was heading towards Berea on Scaffold Cane Road driving a red sedan. Berea Police officers also report observing the vehicle and attempting a traffic stop to which Holden failed to halt and continued down Richmond Road. According to police, Holden eventually stopped at a nearby business parking lot where they proceeded to conduct a “felony traffic stop” due to the nature of the rifle potentially being with Holden.

Police report detaining Holden and the unnamed passenger in the front seat. Police also reported a black AR-15 Assault Rifle being visible in the back seat of the vehicle.

A K-9 unit was deployed and showed indications that possible controlled substances were located in the vicinity. A more thorough search of the vehicle reportedly revealed several pieces of drug paraphernalia including 10 needle syringes, a pill bottle with no label on it, three and a half tablets that were later identified as suboxone, as well as multiple full magazines for the AR-15.

The Bondsmen from Tennessee were reportedly called to the scene so they could question Holden about previous warrants. They mentioned to police that Holden retrieved the rifle from his trunk and said “c’mon up if you really wanna talk” before driving off.

Holden allegedly advised police that the firearm belonged to his girlfriend and advised she had “built the gun off YouTube”. According to police, there was no serial number on the firearm due to it being a custom built “Ghost Gun”.

After running a criminal history check, police report Holden having a felony charge out of Harlan County on 2-23-2008. Holden was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center on charges of Terroristic Threatening, Menacing, Fleeing/Evading police, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Poession of Firearm Convicted Felon, No Operators and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
