Pulaski County Couple Jailed on Drug Charges After Alleged Reckless Driving

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office made an early morning arrest after deputies observed a suspect recklessly driving along KY Hwy 909. Police initiated a traffic stop on the SUV, where they discovered the two individuals to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe, scales, and used plastic bags.
Authorities say “his and her” 9mm pistols were discovered in the vehicle as well, and it was learned that both parties were convicted felons.
Richard Sewell was charged with Reckless Driving, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. In addition, Sewell was charged on a Wayne County Circuit Court indictment warrant on numerous drug possession charges.
Sunshine Herrin was charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
