Madison County Girl Receives Keys to Special Cottage During a Parade in Her Honor

There may have been some clouds in the sky, but it didn’t rain on Madison Central freshman Campbell Doty’s Wish Reveal Parade Friday afternoon. The parade which saw parents, police, and even a princess, served as a reveal for Campbell’s wish which was granted by the Make a Wish Foundation.
Campbell’s special wish revolved around her love of watching and listening to birds. Since Campbell has a rare condition which makes exposure to direct sunlight uncomfortable for her, a plan was set forth to construct Campbell’s very own bird sanctuary. Designed by Make a Wish officials, with help from Campbell’s therapists, the new sanctuary is located in the backyard of Doty’s home and will allow her to enjoy nature at all times of the year.
The keys to Campbell’s Cottage were delivered to Campbell herself today by a very special guest. As part of the wish reveal parade, Princess Cinderella was there to personally hand over the keys.
Doty’s mother says that in addition to the outdoors, Campbell also loves to paint, so Make a Wish also provided her with art supplies.
“She was granted a Wish by Make a Wish, and we went through a long process to make sure it was something she could really enjoy“, a social media post made by Campbell’s mother reads. “It has been a labor of love to watch so many people come together to build her a place she can use every day”.
