I-75 Shut Down Following Fatal Traffic Accident in Rockcastle County

Rockcastle County officials have reported that one person has died as a result of an early morning traffic accident which occurred on I-75 near mile marker 68.
Upon arrival and through investigation, KSP Officer Erik Stallsworth discovered a tractor trailer operated by 23 year-old Hardeep Singh. Singh reportedly struck a compact car being operated by 56 year-old David Thornton. As a result of that collision, Thornton’s vehicle ran into a full-size pickup truck.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash. Thornton was pronounced dead on the scene by Rockcastle County Coroner’s office. Traffic has been redirected at exit 76 in Berea to US25 south as emergency and clean-up crews continues working at the scene for debris removal.
